I've been busy too, and I have also COMPLETELY neglected my house.
I'm now wondering whether neglecting domestic work is affecting my 2 yr old. My toddler loves picture books and pointing out things and activities. I'm sometimes surprised what she knows. (scuba suit, igloo, canoe) I don't remember talking about these words with her. The picture that completely tripped her up recently was "iron." (for clothes)
I tried to pantomime it, and then told her we actually had an iron in the house. I found it in an unpacked box in the basement. (We have lived in our house for 3 yrs) I found the ironing board and ironed a shirt. My daughter laughed and thought the whole thing was a joke.
When my husband arrived home a bit later, Kate told him I ironed, and my spouse, without a drop of saracasm said, "We have an iron?"
So I'm posting because it shows I'm too busy to engage in basic domestic chores, and because it's an iron-ic story.
(Sorry for the bad pun! I'm really tired and can't resist)
